Logsdail achieved his great success with his large, realistic London scenes, but he was also adept at European subjects such as this panoramic street crowd in Venice. The bearded man in a trilby on the far left is a portrait of the painter Edward R.Taylor, headmaster of the Birmingham School of Art.
