Notes | A study for the final painting in the series of seven canvases illustrating 'The Story of St George' for the dining room of the artist Myles Birket Foster, at Witley, Surrey.
One of thirteen studies for this subject in Birmingham's collection. On the reverse is a slight perspective pencil sketch which may be for 'The Princess Chained to the Tree'.
The final painting is now in the collection of Bristol City Art Gallery.
