Notes | A study for the final painting in the series of seven canvases illustrating 'The Story of St George' for the dining room of the artist Myles Birket Foster, at Witley, Surrey.
One of thirteen studies for this subject in Birmingham's collection. The figure is bent slightly forward, whereas in the painting the figure stands upright.
The final painting is now in the collection of Bristol City Art Gallery.
