Notes

The high degree of finish of this drawing suggests that it was the final one approved by the artist to be engraved. It appears in William Thackeray's 'The Memoirs of Barry Lyndon'. The scene depicts a moment shared between Barry Lyndon and Honoria (Nora) Brady. Nora accidently cuts her arm, causing it to bleed. Barry is shown bandaging her.
