Notes

The study on the right is copied from Viollet's 'Dictionnaire Raisonne', volume 4, page 20, figure 6, which is an illustration of a 12th-13th century crown from Aragon based on an Egyptian design. The centre study of the woman's chin, neck and chest is also taken from Viollet, volume 4, page 71, figure 1, an 11th-12th century 'lacet' or cloak fastening.
