Basic Information

Accession Number:1965T3289
Collection:Social History - Pinto Collection
Date:1646 - 1646

Notes

It is probably the inscription on this basting stick which has ensured its survival, as most of them tend to be simply made objects which were used to destruction. It is made of yew wood and is covered with chip carved decoration which features geometric designs typical of Welsh carving in the 17th and 18th centuries. It has lost its original iron spoon.

Purchased from Edward H Pinto, 1965.
