This circular alabaster table has hollow pedestal foot and is made from a single piece of stone.Small stone tables like this are based on earlier pottery forms. They were normally placed in tombs and may originally have had a small funerary meal, loaves of bread or pieces of fruit laid out on them. In a few tombs entire funerary meals have been found.
