Notes

Perry Hall, an Elizabethan gabled mansion with bridge and moat, dated from the late 15th century and was located in present-day Perry Hall park in Perry Barr. John Molyneux held it in 1473 and the building appears to have been altered considerably by Sir William Stamford who bought it in 1546. The porch by S S Teulon on the bridge was added in the 1840s. The contents of the hall were sold in 1928 and the building was demolished soon after. The moat became a boating pool in the park until around 1959.
