Notes

Bluebird toffee tin made by Harry Vincent Ltd of Hunnington, near Birmingham. This large tin of toffees came from John Jesson's sweet shop on Dudley Road, Cape Hill, Birmingham. In the 1950s, many sweets and toffees were stored in large tins and jars. They were sold by weight, rather than in pre-packed bags. A quarter of toffees (125 grams) might cost 1 shilling and 6d, just over 7p today.
