This beautifully made rosewood box contains four hundred and sixty-five wood samples. They include wood types from every continent. The collection may have been put together as a reference resource for use by craftsmen in wood. It is an invaluable identification resource for use in conjunction with the Pinto Collection of treen and wooden bygones at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.
