Notes

Andreas I of Hungary was the great-grandson of Taksony (St Stephen's grandfather). Andreas belonged to the Árpád dynasty, who had founded Hungary in the 9th century.Early Mediaeval Hungarian coins were issued in a wide range of designs. This coin has a geometric pattern on both sides. Other coins have human or animal figures on one or both sides.
