Notes

Frank Taylor Lockwood produced many watercolours of Yardley. A group painted around the 1930's focused on the church and Church Road. This particular watercolour depicts the entrance to Church farm and smithy, situated in the centre of the image. It also depicts the building to the left which is known as the maltings. This part of Yardley became Birmingham's first conservation area on the 17th July 1969 due to this, many buildings were preserved and the view is very similar today.

Presented by Arthur Lockwood and Jean Barnsby.
