This painting was exhibited in 1856 as 'Spithead with part of the Baltic Fleet from Ryde Sands'. A 'Naval Review' of the fleet preparing for the Baltic Campaign was held at Spithead on St. Georges Day (23 April) 1856 to celebrate the end of the war.
