This medal was made to commemorate a sculpture that Blasset was made for the tomb of Canon Lucas of Amiens. Amiens was Blasset's home town, and he completed many sculptures for the interior of the Cathedral de Notre Dame d'Amiens. The medal shows an exact depiction of 'The Weeping Angel', which earned Blasset great fame during his lifetime.
